Welcome to the website of Virtù Artists! We’re a new agency but we bring lots of experience to the table that we leverage on behalf of our clients!
We are an upstart! Tom Schaub, after 30 years of being on the presenter side of the business has decided to cross over and implement his expertise on behalf of artists. Tom has been the primary talent buyer for both The Michigan Irish Music Festival and The Muskegon Summer Celebration and was a founding board member as well.
Managing events with annual budgets ranging from $20,000 to over one million dollars and attendance ranging from a few thousand to over three hundred thousand give us a unique perspective on the music business.
30 years has amounted to over 800 artists booked and presented including some prestigious names. Shows have featured Andy Irving, Tommy Makem, Taylor Swift, Ray Charles, Damien Dempsey, James Brown, Santana, Altan, Solas, Slide, Aretha Franklin, Bonnie Raitt, Hootie & The Blowfish, Taeda, The High Kings, Joe Walsh, ZZ Top, Leahy, Crosby, Stills & Nash, Toto, Foreigner, Smash Mouth, Sharon Shannon, Brian McKnight, Goo Goo Dolls, Heart, We Banjo 3, Barenaked Ladies, John Legend and many others.
Our name “Virtù” has a number of connotations that are at the core of our business ethic. One from the English 18th century connotes “knowledge of or expertise in the fine arts.” This means that we use our expertise, experience and inspiration on behalf of our clients: keeping their art at the center of what we do. The second connotation is of Machiavellian/Florentine origin and relates to virtue and high standards of service, work and integrity.
At Virtù, we aren’t interested in having a lot of bands on our website and hoping that someone will see them and book them. Our craft is the relationships with festivals and presenters that we leverage on behalf of our clients, the efforts that we continuously make to build new relationships and discover new opportunities. The agency that we have with our artists is one where much is riding and one that we don’t enter into lightly. Our hard work allows our artists to do what they do best – create.
